Day 30: Relief

reliefRelief

: removal or lightening of something oppressive, painful, or distressing

: things that are given to help people who are victims

PRAY: In so many ways, Jesus, you have brought me relief through your grace, and I thank you. I pray that you would draw near to your people this election season and use us to bring your relief to the world around us. May our votes and our participation in this election affect relief, especially for those who are experiencing oppression, pain or distress. Make us your relief for victims in our world today.

2 Thessalonians 1:5-7

“All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.”

Well loved! I have been blessed all my life to be surrounded by family and friends that nurtured, supported and loved me into the person that I have become. That love has sustained me throughout whatever circumstance I have found in life. It is the greatest gift that one can give and the essential ingredient to living life with no regrets. I reached this conclusion while lying in a hospital bed on life support for 70 days. Under those circumstances I dealt with the essential ingredients of my life. What was important? Why was I alive? What did my life mean?
